Washington DC is one of my favorite cities to visit. I've seen a dozen times, especially as an adult. I particularly enjoy the visit to the mall and the Smithsonian Institution.
The mall is the exciting part of DC. E 'as a cross, formed by the Washington Monument in the center of the capital in the north, the White House to the east, the Lincoln Memorial in the south, and the Jefferson Memorial in the West. Each of these buildings is beautifully designed in the style of ancient GreeceArchitecture. Some monuments have recently been added since, including Korea and Vietnam war memorials and a large statue of Albert Einstein.
Smithsonian is a must for every visit that I saw in DC over the past 20 years. It is home to several excellent museums, all free to the public, including the American History Museum, the National Air and Space Museum, National Gallery of Art, the Hirschhorn Museum and the Museum of the Holocaust. The American History Museum is my favorite of these. You see this museum usually requires two days, because it is so big. Air and Space Museum is excellent. The museum contains all the missiles and spacecraft, including Apollo and Skylab space capsules and space shuttles. The National Gallery of Art houses a fine collection of early European and American art. Hirschhorn Museum has a fantastic collection of modern art, including several sculptures by Rodin, Degas and others. The Holocaust Museum is also quite excellent, though very. Disturb
